Humpday Highlights: Directing the Dead 2 - Directing the Deader

Last week's Humpday Highlights brought you two videos from the most twisted panel of SXSW 2010: "Directing the Dead: Genre Directors Spill Their Guts." This week, we bring you more of the same, featuring additional videos and the full podcast with the heavy-hitting talents behind some of the most of the terrifying, disgusting and/or entertaining films of the '00s and beyond.

Panelists include Matt Reeves, director of Cloverfield and the upcoming Let Me In, Neil Marshall, of the astounding The Descent and SXFantastic Super Secret TBD screening Centurion, as well as Ti West (House of the Devil) and Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland). And of course, Austin, Texas favorite son Robert Rodriguez, of Sin City, Desperado, half of Grindhouse, and the recent release Machete, throws his hat into the ring.

In the podcast, the filmmakers cover some of the most dominant industry trends in genre filmmaking today, including the pervasiveness of both remakes and shooting in 3D (video #1). In addition, the filmmakers share thoughts about creating effects with and without using CGI (video #2).
