Om, Giga OM at SXSW: Morning Yoga Sessions Return

yoga_conference_room.jpgNeed to find a path to higher ground at the 2012 SXSW Interactive Festival? Then unplug your laptop, turn off your smart phone, relax and let it all go. Attendees to this year's event will again have the chance to start their days mindfully as morning yoga returns to SXSW. Yoga was developed thousands of years ago as a way to prepare the body and mind to be more receptive to enlightenment. What better way to prepare for all the new people and ideas you will encounter every day at SXSW Interactive? These morning yoga sessions occur from 9:30-10:30 am on March 10, March 11, March 12 and March 13 in Room 8a at the Austin Convention Center. And, if you aren't an early riser, there is also an afternoon session on Friday, March 9 from 2:00-3:00 pm in Room 8a). These SXSW yoga sessions won't be overly strenuous, so feel free to wear everyday street clothes if you plan to attend.

Tuesday, March 13 Events: Accelerator Finalists

accelerator2012logoforweb_half-column.pngSXSW Interactive is March Madness Austin style, with activities beginning Friday, March 9 and continuing through the end of the day on Tuesday, March 13 . Although first day events are typically strong (be sure to catch the feature presentation from Wikinomics author Don Tapscott), we tend to save the strongest elements for the last day of festivities. Said another way, if you aren't' staying through the end of the day on Tuesday, March 13, then you are missing out some of the event's coolest content!

Interactive Session Spotlight: "Don't Build a Power Glove: Talk to Your Users"

ia-big-bag-by-so.jpgWe are very excited to reveal the 2012 SXSW Interactive Big Bag, designed by visual artist and Twitter fail whale creator Yiying Lu. What's a Big Bag, you ask? It's the #1 accessory at SXSW, and you'll see everyone carrying it to transport conference materials, extra shoes and water. Don't forget to grab yours up after you pick up your badge.

We were honored to chat with Yiying recently about her creative process, the inspiration for the iconic fail whale and much much more. (The complete interview will appear in the Interactive Program Directory.)
